My son and I have always had a healthy dose of competition. Trouble is the older we get the more small competitions he is winning. I remember my Mum asking me if she gets a handicap when she turned 80 years old when we played games from then on and I replied with a swift, NO! She giggled and I rolled my eyes. My sister scoffed with a giggle, hahahaha, Mum! If you knew Mum, you knew that she never gave us an inch when we were growing up as far as winning games. We had to win them on our own merit…and the tradition is being passed on to my son and will no doubt be passed to his kids too.
Anyway, this post was not supposed to be about the competitiveness of my family, that will need an entire book I reckon…LOL!
It’s about the song titled With Arms Wide Open by Creed. I used to play Creed quite a lot when my son and I were driving to school or to karate when he was quite young. So last night while I was looking after my Grandson while my son was doing his training, Creed came on…and of course, my son says, Hey Mum, who’s this? Ahhh, and just like that, the band name came and went from my brain without recollection. He got me.
It does make me feel old but at the same time it makes me feel proud that I have raised a competitive strong man who likes the music that I played to him in his youth. I’m also proud that he has kept up his martial arts, handing on the craft to his step-child and his son already.
My blog wasn’t supposed to be about my son so he won’t be mentioned in the next post…promise! LOL!
I will definitely not be writing really long posts with unrelated photos with long captions, infographics and timelines. Those type of blogs lose me pretty quickly because as a creative my attention span is limited so capture it or it goes out the window very quickly. Oh look something shiny…
