It’s a tough decision to make to let go of one of your babies…you know, an idea that you have, everyone said, yes, that’s a good idea…and then it’s a flop.
When I say everyone, I mean, the people I asked were friends and family and of course, they will say that’s a good idea because people are polite and encouraging.
Napoleon Hill said: The number one reason people fail in life is because they listen to their friends, family, and neighbors.
And this is where I put this idea. My Art Share Days were a good idea however it was a flop. Yes, I put it out there and marketed it, however, I think there was one friend who said it perfectly: People spend a lot of money on their hobbies and the added cost of $30 per session to come and work on it in your studio makes their project too expensive. And she was right I think, so thanks Annie.
Letting go of an idea is a blip of failure to me and also a leveling up in my acceptance of, oh well, that didn’t work, let’s move on.
Moving on was hard for me in the early years, but now that I am in my 60th year on this planet (scary hey!) I am coming to terms with letting go of things so much more easily.
Failure is a harsh word. I tried something and it didn’t work as I had hoped. Move on. That’s where I am these days.
