Highly talented award-winning artist, Kathy Elizabeth refers to herself as a weird creative who’s trained in many disciplines while working as a commercial artist. Her skills include airbrushing, abstracts, stylised painting, photo-realism, opal cutting, jewellery making, ceramics, and of course, drawing!
Kathy Elizabeth has worked as a professional artist for more years than she can remember. Initially, she was accepted into RMIT School of Fine Art and also Bendigo School of Pottery. She took the sensible path and started her working life as a graphic artist (before computers). She continued to gravitate back to fine art and continued her passion for painting and drawing behind the scenes.
She has created two Cow Parade cows; one for the Shepparton Moo-ving Art Project in 2002 and another for the Margaret River Cow Parade in 2012. She is looking to paint a third. Kathy Elizabeth has produced countless paintings in her series of chilies, and series of fish, and also commissioned portraits.
She achieved the “People’s Choice Award” at the Dunsborough Art Society exhibition in 2014 for her photo-realism “Tiger”, several “Best Car at Show” awards for her portrait airbrushing on an HQ Monaro and also Flames on remote control trucks. She has also won 1st and 2nd prize in a photography competition and 1st prize in the novice category for lapidary at her local rock club.
